What - or who? - is God? An angry moral scorekeeper? A supernatural Santa for those who do what’s right? A fiction? An irrelevance?
Explore this and other fundamental questions at Whirlow Spirituality Centre’s summer book group, reading The Divine Dance by Richard Rohr (with Mike Morrell).
The writers think about God in a different way that can cut through conflicting perspectives. They speak of the Divine as a community; as a dance.
Using the ancient and transformative mystery of the Trinity, God is re-imagined as one, yet three; as friendship; as embrace.
Participants in this book group will watch videos by Rohr and his team that explore the text. Each of the 4 evenings will cater for anyone interested in the book who is keen to discuss it with others.
The sessions will be fornightly, led by John Stride. They will be of most benefit to those who can find and read a copy of the book in advance and we recommend attending the full series if you can.
All sessions are 7.30 - 9.30pm at Whirlow and include refreshments. Dates are: June 5; June 19; July 3; July 17.
