Hildegard: Nine Centuries a Prophetess
Hildegard of Bingen was a woman ahead of her time in countless ways and she continues to speak challenging truths into a 21st century context. She was one of four Extraordinary Women that featured in Whirlow’s Heritage Open Days programme in 2018 and will be the focus of this Quiet Day.
Our themed Quiet Days in 2019 take great spiritual women as a source of inspiration and reflection - we looked at Mary’s story in March and will explore the life of Julian of Norwich in October.
Hildegard was a skilled writer, scientist, environmentalist, spiritual leader, musician and more. She was also a mystic, famous for receiving striking visions from the Holy Spirit.
The Quiet Day will open up her life and story as a resource for participants to incorporate into their own prayerful reflection and spiritual journey.
The day will run from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Reserve your place below. The cost is £18, payable in advance and participants (maximum 15) are invited to bring their own lunch.
