Centering Prayer is a practice that can prepare a person for contemplative prayer, as they develop in Christian maturity.
Contemplative Prayer opens hearts and minds to God beyond thoughts, words, and emotions.
This prayer method was developed in the 1970’s by Fr. Thomas Keating and two other Cistercian monks in the USA. It is rooted in the Christian tradition, inspired by a centuries' old English book, “The Cloud of Unknowing”. It is not meant to replace other kinds of prayer but to renew them.
Participants at this introductory day will have opportunity to learn, discuss and practise Centering Prayer.
Participants will receive an email with further details around a week before the event.
