Led by Dr Michael Ford, BBC Radio 4 religious broadcaster & author of Nouwen's biography 'Wounded Prophet', this event will be a unique opportunity to hear about Nouwen first hand through the eyes of a person who met him, researched his life in Europe and North America, has written a number of books and articles about him, and now teaches about him.
You will be able to inspect Henri's own lecture and retreat notes, hear him preach, watch films about him and see rare family photographs.
Michael will be sharing many aspects of Henri's amazing story, from his pioneering work as a pastoral theologian at Yale and Harvard, his life in a Trappist monastery, his experience of liberation theology in Latin America, his work among those with learning disabilities at L'Arche and the insights he drew from the circus and the flying trapeze.
